Texas Ten Horns

Scenario	A shooting scenario that is old west (either real or fictitious) using the revolver, rifle and shotgun. The number of rounds used in each weapon varies upon the creativity of the person writing the stages. A common example is 10 pistol, 10 Rifle and 4+ shotgun. We usually shoot six stages. The examples above will give you a good idea.
Sweeps	The order in which the steel targets are engaged. Used primarily with the revolver and the rifle. But could also be used with the shotgun. Click here for a description of various kinds of sweeps (sweeps document).
Counters	Three posse members who count misses. If we know it is a miss it is a miss. If we think it is a miss then it is a hit and if we can't tell, the benefit goes to the shooter as a hit. In SASS a miss is a 5 second penalty. In NCOWS a miss is a 10 second penalty.
Range Officer	R.O. Runs the timer and is directly responsible for range safety.
Loading Table	The supervised area where firearms are loaded.
Un-loading Table	The supervised area where all firearms are checked after the shooting scenario to ensure that they are all un-loaded.
Squib	A very un-safe condition in which a bullet does not exit the firearm (stuck in the barrel)
